زمینه و هدف: پوسیدگی دندان شایعترین بیماری مزمن دوران کودکی بوده و پیشگیری از آن، اهمیت ویژه ای دارد. همچنین آموزش زودهنگام و موفق به مادران در رابطه با سلامت دهان و پوسیدگی زودرس دندان کودکان میتواند تاثیر زیادی در بالا بردن آگاهی و عملکرد آنان داشته و رفتارهای سالم بهداشتی فرزندانشان را در آینده تثبیت کند. لذا مطالعه حاضر با هدف تعیین تاثیر آموزش روش های پیشگیری از پوسیدگی زودرس دندان کودکان بر آگاهی، نگرش و عملکرد مادران باردار انجام شد.
روش کار: این مطالعه از نوع نیمه تجربی قبل و بعد بود. جامعه آماری شامل مادران باردار با سن بارداری 27-12 هفته مراجعهکننده به مراکز بهداشتی درمانی شهر یزد در سال 1396 بود که از میان آنها 116 مادر باردار به روش نمونهگیری تصادفی خوشه ای، انتخاب شدند. در ابتدای مطالعه فرم مشخصات دموگرافیک و پرسشنامه های آگاهی، نگرش و عملکرد توسط آزمودنی ها تکمیل شد. سپس دو جلسه آموزشی یک ساعته در زمینه پیشگیری از پوسیدگی زودرس دندان کودکان برگزار شد. یک ماه پس از مداخله مجدداً آزمودنیها توسط همان پرسشنامهها مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفتند. تجزیه و تحلیل دادهها با استفاده از آزمونهای آماری تحلیل واریانس، تی وابسته و تی مستقل انجام شد.
یافته ها: میانگین نمره آگاهی مادران قبل از آموزش 0/99 (از 9 نمره)، نمره نگرش 20/71 (از 28 نمره) و نمره عملکرد 6/29 (از 24 نمره) بود که بعد از آموزش هر سه مورد به طور قابل توجهی افزایش یافت (0/05>p).
نتیجه گیری: نتایج این پژوهش نشانگر تاثیر مثبت برنامه آموزشی بر افزایش آگاهی، نگرش و عملکرد کوتاه مدت مادران باردار در زمینه پیشگیری از پوسیدگی زودرس دندان کودکان بود. بنابراین پیشنهاد میگردد برنامههای منسجم آموزشی برای مادران باردار در رابطه با بهداشت دهان و دندان کودکان تدوین گردد.
