Background: Infertility is a negative event in human life that leads to psychological and emotional stress and problems; therefore, finding an empirical, evidence-based, and effective intervention is of great importance. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of logo therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and processing emotion regulation strategies training on the spiritual health of women with infertility.
Methods: The research design was a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test and a two-month follow-up design with a control group. The study population included all women with infertility referring to Dena and Zeinbiyeh hospitals (2024) in Shiraz City. A total of 60 participants were selected using purposive non-random sampling method. Among them, 45 women with infertility were randomly assigned to three experimental groups (15 people in each group) and 15 to control group. The intervention groups received eight 90-minute sessions of the regarding treatment protocol independently. The research tools included logo therapy (Frankel, 1979), acceptance and commitment therapy (Hayes et al., 1999), and processing emotion regulation strategies training (Gross, Ghaedi Jahromi et al, 2012), and the Spiritual Well-being Questionnaire (Polotzion and Ellison, 1982) was administered in three stages: pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. Data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance in SPSS-24.
Results: The results showed that all three treatment methods affected the spiritual health level of weomen with infertility (p<0.05), but the post-hoc results revealed that acceptance and commitment therapy was more effective than the others.
Conclusion: According to the results, acceptance and commitment therapy which were more effective among the studied treatments, therefore, it can be used as an effective therapy to increase the spiritual health of women with infertility.
