زمینه و هدف: یکی از جنبههای اساسی مراقبت پرستاری در بخشهای ویژه، مراقبت از دهان میباشد که نه تنها در ایجاد احساس راحتی بیمار بلکه در جلوگیری از عوارض جدی مانند پنومونی وابسته به ونتیلاتور نقش دارد. این مطالعه با هدف تعیین تأثیر برنامه جامع مراقبت از دهان بر بهداشت دهان بیماران بستری در بخشهای مراقبت ویژه انجام گرفت.
روش کار: مطالعه حاضر یک کارآزمایی بالینی بود که در سال 96 روی 76 بیمار بستری در بخش مراقبت ویژه که واجد معیارهای ورود بودند انجام گرفت. بیماران به روش تصادفی ساده در دو گروه آزمون و کنترل قرار گرفتند. برای نمونه های گروه آزمون، علاوه بر مراقبت معمول از دهان، یک برنامه ترکیبی مراقبت از دهان شامل مسواک، کلرهگزیدین، ژل مرطوب کننده مخاط دهان و چرب کننده لب به مدت 5 روز انجام شد. وضعیت بهداشت دهان طی پنج روز مطالعه در هر دو گروه ارزیابی و مورد مقایسه قرار گرفت. ابزار گردآوری داده ها فرم مشخصات دموگرافیک و مقیاس ارزیابی دهان بک بود. تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS-16 انجام گرفت.
یافته ها: نتایج نشان داد که تفاوت آماری معناداری در نمرات مقیاس ارزیابی بهداشت دهان روزهای اول و دوم در دو گروه آزمون و کنترل وجود نداشت ولی در روزهای سوم، چهارم و پنجم، وضعیت بهداشت دهان گروه آزمون به طور معناداری، بهتر از گروه کنترل بود (0/05<p).
نتیجه گیری: بر اساس نتایج بدست آمده، برنامه جامع مراقبت از دهان منجر به بهبود وضعیت بهداشت دهان بیماران بستری در بخشهای ویژه میشود. بنابراین، استفاده از برنامه پیشنهاد شده میتواند به اطمینان از رعایت حداقل مراقبت از دهان در بیماران بخش ویژه کمک کند.
